As first-year students at Hogwarts, players are sorted into two rival houses, each led by a prefect who knows the secrets of the school’s iconic mystery card grid. On their turn, prefects provide their team a clue—a single word and a number—suggesting how many cards are connected to that word. The team then works together to guess the corresponding words on the grid, revealing one card at a time. Correct guesses allow players to continue exploring, but a wrong flip—whether revealing a card tied to the rival house, a locked door, or even groundskeeper Argus Filch—can bring their turn to a screeching halt. The stakes are high, as encountering Argus Filch ends the game and awards victory to the opposing house. Each win contributes to the House Cup, allowing players to track their house’s points game after game. New to Back to Hogwarts are house-specific special abilities, offering asymmetric gameplay that introduces strategic depth and replayability.
